User control and freedom Usability Heuristic #3

Users often choose system functions by mistake and will need a clearly marked "emergency exit" to leave the unwanted state without having to go through an extended dialogue. Support undo and redo.

The user is not forced to use one of the suggested addresses, since the entered address may be correct with the error being in the database. The "Keep Address" button gives the user the control needed to override the system.

Consistency and standards Usability Heuristic #4

Users should not have to wonder whether different words, situations, or actions mean the same thing.  Follow platform conventions.

This page follows these conventions:

  • Standard button appearance
  • Standard link color for unvisited links (but not the standard color for visited links)
  • Buttons act as buttons should act
  • The drop down list box of suggestions is a standard form control rather than one-off Flash implementation.
